Altrusa of Gig Harbor is part of an international organization dedicated to service, leadership, and community engagement, proudly serving Gig Harbor, Washington. Our mission is to strengthen our community through hands-on service, meaningful partnerships, and financial support for programs that make a lasting difference for local families.

We are best known for our annual Empty Bowls event, a beloved Gig Harbor tradition that raises vital funds for organizations addressing food insecurity. The event brings together local artists, volunteers, and community members in a shared effort to ensure families have access to nourishing meals. Our chapter also helped bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Gig Harbor and continues to support this impactful program, delivering free, age-appropriate books to children and fostering a lifelong love of reading.

Beyond these signature initiatives, Altrusa of Gig Harbor actively supports local nonprofits through collaborative service projects that respond to the evolving needs of our community. Just as important as the work we do is how we do it—our members value friendship, connection, and fun, building strong relationships while creating meaningful and lasting impact in the community we are proud to call home.
