"My life has been stimulated by the variety of beautiful things I’ve experienced in my travels.  I am very mechanically-oriented, which is carried to my pottery. My goal is to ensure each piece has a smooth flow from start to finish…to create beautiful pieces of art – both functional and decorative – in a variety of firing techniques to include Raku, Saggar, Carbon, and High-fired Porcelain.”

Washington Correction Center for Women — Sisters of Charity and the Empty Bowls Project

Sisters of Charity is a program at Washington Corrections Center for Women that benefits over 30 charities both local and worldwide. In 2016, Sisters of Charity donated over 2,400 items including quilts, pillowcases, ceramic pieces, scarves, hats, bags, animal beds, and other miscellaneous items to various charities. Sisters of Charity began their relationship with the Empty Bowls Project in 2015 when they were asked to make pottery bowls for a local Empty Bowls fundraiser. They donated 20 bowls that were glazed by outside volunteers and the WCCW bowls sold very quickly at their event. Over the past year, Sisters of Charity has continued to make and donate pottery bowls for the Empty Bowls Project and are more than excited to continue working with this event that focuses on reducing child hunger locally in our area.
