Day or Night, Rain or Shine by Carol Virak, CV Gallery
“Day or Night Rain or Shine, Music Is Always Inspiring”
Carol Virak, acrylic painting, pastels, charcoal and collage artist
Carol has had a lifelong continuing education in Art, including a Masters of Fine Art degree from the Univ. of Puget Sound. She was appointed to the Tacoma Arts Commission and worked to raise funds for the Pantages Theatre, which earned her a “Time Magazine Person of the Year Award” and a brass plaque on the entry to the newly restored historical Pantages Theatre.
Carol became the owner/curator of the “Contemporary Craft Gallery, Inc.” in the Tacoma Financial Center and was appointed a “Fellow” to The National Endowment for the Arts in Washington D.C. to work with the Challenge III Program.
She has continued to champion local artists over the years, including chairing the Harbor History Museum Art Exhibition “SPLASH” for 2 years and serving on the committee for 4 years.
Since retiring, Carol has devoted her lifelong interest in Art to “finding her own voice” as an artist, and maintains a working studio “CV Gallery” at her home. Acrylic painting, pastels, charcoal and collage are her medium choices of expression.
CV Gallery is open by appointment. "I'll be working in the gallery ? my studio ? most days," she said. But to be sure, please call for an appointment because we may decide to run off to someplace sunny like Arizona for a few weeks if it gets to cold and rainy here."
Now that she has a space of her own, thanks to the work her husband did converting the old garage into her gallery and studio, Virak is happily "putting my energy into doing creative things and returning to my artistic roots."
