11.  Spirit (guitar) by Mary Jackson

I get my inspiration from my muse, Susan.  I keep her picture on my work table.  She told me, “That guitar needs indigenous Indian geometry and a face”.  I do what she tells me and she lets me sign my name, Maja.

I believe humor is in the eye of the beholder and religion and myth have a great sense of humor. I like to keep it centered, or casting a shadow.  I like spiritual whimsy.  What was Eve thinking?

I have many favorite artists.  Two are the painters Zubaran, the abstract dramatist; and Caravaggio who portrays everyone as a cartoon superhero.  And I like the variety of cultural geometry, keeping in mind that math is God’s artwork.
