Supplies for School Children
Although the Gig Harbor area is known for its exceptional standard of living, there are many families in the community for whom life is still a struggle. Each year, Altrusa Foundation purchases basic clothing such as socks, underwear, sweats , as well as school supplies such as backpacks, pencils, paper, notebooks, erasers and rulers for distribution by counselors in local schools. Partners such as Kitsap Credit Union are active supporters of the Altrusa effort, and the collection of donated goods and funds designated for the project goes on year round.
